Appointment Preparation

Please adhere to the following information regarding your upcoming treatment:


BOTOX

Prior to your appointment

  • There are no restrictions

After your appointment

  • You can expect to have tiny raised bumps in the area you were injected for approximately 5-10 minutes. Your results will occur gradually over the course of the next 2 weeks.
  • Please avoid exercise for the remainder of the day.
  • Do not lie down or touch the treated area for 4 hours.

FILLER (ie Juvederm, Voluma, Volbella, Restylane, Sculptra)

Prior to your appointment

  • There is a risk of potential bruising, swelling, redness and tenderness at the injection site. While not completely unavoidable, these side effects can be greatly minimized by avoiding the following for 5-7 days prior to your appointment:
    • All blood thinners such as Aspirin, Ibuprofen, Motrin, Excedrin, and all NSAIDS. Please check with your physician before going off any prescribed medications.
    • Alcohol
    • Fish Oil

After your appointment

  • Please avoid exercise for the remainder of the day
  • If you experience bruising you may try the following to lessen its duration:
    • FIRST 24 HOURS – gentle ice application several times per day
    • AFTER 24 HOURS – apply warm, moist heat to the area several times per day

BBL / PHOTOFACIAL

Prior to your appointment

  • It is imperative to avoid sun or tanning lamp exposure. You must not be exposed to the sun for at least 4 weeks prior to your treatment. In order to receive a safe and effective treatment, your appointment will be rescheduled if you have had sun prior to the treatment.
  • It is imperative to avoid sun or tanning lamp exposure. You must not be exposed to the sun for at least 4 weeks prior to your treatment. In order to receive a safe and effective treatment, your appointment will be rescheduled if you have had sun prior to the treatment.
  • Discontinue use of Retin-A and Retinols 2-5 days prior to your treatment.

After your appointment

  • A mild sunburn -like sensation is expected following your treatment. This usually lasts a few hours but can persist for up to 72 hours.
  • Please avoid exercise for the remainder of the day.
  • Treated lesions will turn darker over the first 24-48 hours. The skin may look “peppered” and dark spots will flake off over the first 7-14 days. Avoid picking or scratching and let the lesions flake off on their own.
  • Avoid direct sunlight for 2 weeks following your treatment.
  • Wear an SPF of 30 or greater to prevent rebound of existing and development of new lesions.
  • Avoid the use of Retin-A, Retinol, Glycolic Acid, exfoliating scrub and Clarisonic brushes for 1 week.
  • If you were treated for vascular lesions (broken capillaries) you should expect some swelling. To minimize swelling you may apply a cool compress and if still bothersome you may take an antihistamine such as Zyrtec or Benadryl.
  • Avoid hot tubs, saunas, hot yoga and hot water to the treated area(s) for 5 days to ensure best results.

LASER HAIR REMOVAL

Prior to your appointment

  • You MUST SHAVE the area to be treated within 24 hours of your appointment. If you do not come to your appointment shaven you may be rescheduled at the discretion of your provider.
  • It is imperative to avoid sun or tanning lamp exposure. You must not be exposed to the sun for at least 4 weeks prior to your treatment. In order to receive a safe and effective treatment, your appointment will be rescheduled if you have had sun prior to the treatment.
  • Discontinue use of sunless tanners 2 weeks prior to your appointment.
  • PLEASE CALL OUR OFFICE IF YOU HAVE AN ACTIVE COLD SORE!

After your appointment

  • A mild heat sensation is expected following your treatment. This will dissipate over the first 2-24 hours.
  • Use SPF 30 or greater if sun exposure is unavoidable. Sun avoidance will decrease the likelihood of skin color changes.
  • Avoid swimming, hot tubs, saunas and excessive exercise for 24-48 hours after treatment or until redness has subsided.

HALO

Prior to your appointment

  • It is imperative to avoid sun or tanning lamp exposure. You must not be exposed to the sun for at least 4 weeks prior to your treatment. In order to receive a safe and effective treatment, your appointment will be rescheduled if you have had sun prior to the treatment.
  • Discontinue use of sunless tanners 2 weeks prior to your appointment.
  • Discontinue use of Retin-A and Retinol 2-5 days prior to your treatment.
  • PLEASE CALL OUR OFFICE IF YOU HAVE AN ACTIVE COLD SORE!
  • Be sure to hydrate and eat a normal breakfast or lunch in advance of your treatment.
  • Start eating fresh pineapple the day before your treatment. The enzymes can reduce your recovery time.

After your appointment

  • A sunburn sensation is expected following your treatment. This will dissipate over the first 2-24 hours.
  • Redness will dissipate over the first 3 days and gradually become bronzed looking. The texture of your skin will feel rough and dry however you will be instructed how to care for your skin and manage these expected side effects by your provider.
  • Use SPF 30 or greater if sun exposure is unavoidable. Sun avoidance will decrease the likelihood of skin color changes.
  • Avoid swimming, hot tubs, saunas and excessive exercise for 24-48 hours after treatment or until redness has subsided.
  • On the second or third day after your treatment you will increasingly notice tiny dark spots to the treated areas. These are called MENDS (microscopic epidermal necrotic debris). DO NOT PICK OR SCRATCH them off as the peeling and flaking should occur naturally. This is part of the normal and expected healing process.
  • Avoid strenuous exercise and sweating for 5 days following your procedure. Sweating and increased body temperature will only prolong the healing process and add to your discomfort.

PRO FRACTIONAL
